Location: This role is based in our Vancouver office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Salary: $238,000-$270,000 CAD

What you will do

• Manage and grow a team of backend and full-stack engineers working across monetization and billing systems.
• Drive execution, prioritization, and technical direction across a strategically important monetization platform area.
• Lead engineering efforts across systems powering monetization platform APIs, product catalog infrastructure, incentives and discount systems, and billing provider integrations.
• Lead complex, multi-quarter initiatives involving Engineering, Product, Finance, Enterprise Technology, and Operations teams.
• Guide architectural discussions and technical decision-making across scalable backend and platform systems.

Requirements

• Experience managing software engineering teams in scalable backend, platform engineering, or service-oriented architecture environments.
• Strong technical background in scalable backend systems, platform engineering, or full-stack application development.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving multiple engineering and business stakeholders.
• Experience operating production systems with high reliability and scalability requirements.
• Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience with billing, payments, subscription, pricing, or monetization systems.
• Experience leading platform or infrastructure teams.
• Experience with microservices, Kubernetes, gRPC, or service-oriented architectures.
• Familiarity with Scala and TypeScript ecosystems.
