What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage a distributed team of 8+ staff engineers to foster technical excellence.
• Develop Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and set annual performance goals for career progression.
• Partner with studio leaders and producers to align engineering resource deployment with project milestones.
• Establish studio-wide best practices for code reviews, technical documentation, and feedback loops.
• Contribute to technical proofs of concept and non-critical path coding to maintain sharp engineering skills.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from Montréal, Canada.
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in the video game industry.
• 2+ years of experience in direct people management of engineers.
• Proven track record of shipping multiple AAA console titles and understanding console development pipelines.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and deep knowledge of multi-threaded architectures.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, or custom proprietary game engines.
• Practical expertise in multiplayer networking, rendering, physics, or console porting.
