Commercial Counsel (LATAM)

TL;DR

Commercial Counsel (Legal): Supporting complex commercial transactions across LATAM, including SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships with an accent on navigating AI-specific legal and regulatory frameworks. Focus on drafting enterprise customer contracts, localizing legal playbooks, and providing pragmatic advice to enable high-growth GTM initiatives.

Location: Remote within the LATAM region; must be able to operate in GMT-5 timezones (preference for candidates based in Mexico or Brazil).

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and GTM/Sales agreements, specifically enterprise customer contracts in LATAM.
• Partner with sales, business development, and operations to implement strategies for high-growth initiatives.
• Monitor and interpret regional legal developments regarding data protection, technology, and AI frameworks.
• Develop and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to align with regional requirements.
• Provide commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional global teams to enable responsible growth.

Requirements

• Law degree and qualification to practice law in a relevant LATAM jurisdiction (preference for Brazil or Mexico).
• 7+ years of post-qualification legal experience, with strong preference for in-house experience in technology or SaaS.
• Proven track record in drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property.
• Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross-border data transfer issues.
• Ability to operate in GMT-5 timezones.
