TL;DR

1st Line NOC Engineer (Networking): Supporting and maintaining customer network environments with an accent on ISP, SD-WAN, LAN, and security endpoints. Focus on managing BAU/break-fix activities, triaging network issues, and ensuring high-performance infrastructure through effective incident resolution.

Location: Must be based in the UK. The role is fully remote, with a potential future office presence in the West Yorkshire area.

What you will do

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related issues using tools like LogicMonitor.
  • Manage BAU and break-fix activities, including firewall rule adjustments and device diagnostics.
  • Handle incidents and service requests via ServiceNow, ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain best practices for security endpoint technologies and network infrastructure.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by updating the knowledge base and identifying process efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the UK.
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including OSI model, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers.
  • Willingness to work in shift patterns, including potential 24/7 rotation.
