TL;DR

Senior Ceded Technician (Reinsurance): Managing post-placement accounting and settlement activities for proportional and non-proportional reinsurance contracts with an accent on financial integrity and reinsurer relationships. Focus on producing accounting extracts, administering adjustment premiums, and coordinating settlements across multi-entity structures.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the London, UK or Warren, NJ offices (Hybrid: flexibility to work remotely two days a week)

What you will do

  • Manage post-placement activities for proportional and non-proportional reinsurance contracts.
  • Produce and validate ceded reinsurance accounting extracts, reports, and reinsurer statements.
  • Coordinate the settlement of deposit premiums and administer adjustment premiums and profit commissions.
  • Support claims-related activity, including issuing cash calls, loss billings, and calculating reinstatement premiums.
  • Reconcile ceded balances, investigate discrepancies, and resolve queries from brokers and reinsurers.
  • Ensure compliance with audit, regulatory, and internal control requirements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in reinsurance accounting, operations, or a technical finance role.
  • Essential experience working within the Lloyd’s and London Market.
  • Familiarity with proportional and non-proportional reinsurance treaty structures.
  • Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with XL Pro.
  • Experience with LORS.
