TL;DR

Technical Product Manager (Hardware & Supply Chain): Driving new product development and managing the complete lifecycle of industrial robotics hardware with an accent on supplier relations, component obsolescence, and quality assurance. Focus on translating complex business requirements into actionable technical specifications and ensuring regulatory compliance for global automation solutions.

Location: On-site in Tokyo, Japan. Relocation support including visa sponsorship, flight, and housing assistance is available.

What you will do

  • Identify and evaluate ODM/OEM partners to meet technical and business requirements.
  • Translate internal stakeholder needs into detailed product specifications for supplier evaluation.
  • Monitor component lifecycles, manage obsolescence risks, and lead mitigation strategies like second-source qualification.
  • Coordinate with external laboratories and certification bodies to ensure project timelines and compliance.
  • Assess supplier performance and manage non-conformance reports to ensure high quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations to align product deliverables with business goals.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of experience in Hardware Product Management, Product Engineering, or Strategic Sourcing.
  • Proven track record working with OEM/ODM suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Hands-on experience in component lifecycle management and BOM analysis.
  • Strong understanding of hardware manufacturing processes and quality control.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Ability to relocate to Tokyo, Japan.

Nice to have

  • Experience in robotics, industrial automation, or high-tech hardware sectors.
  • Knowledge of cost-modeling and supplier contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards such as CE and FCC.
  • Japanese language proficiency.
