Location: Remote (Working hours: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM NZST)

What you will do

  • Manage multi-location accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) for six childcare facilities.
  • Perform high-precision bank and credit card reconciliations for approximately 400 monthly transactions.
  • Synchronize invoicing, enrollment parameters, and student ledger databases between Xero and the Discover ECE platform.
  • Monitor aged debtor reports and proactively follow up on overdue parent accounts to optimize cash flow.
  • Assemble month-end financial report packages for executive leadership review and strategic planning.
  • Liaise with parents, external suppliers, and New Zealand-based chartered accountants.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Xero Certification with extensive hands-on experience.
  • Previous experience supporting clients based in New Zealand.
  • Deep bookkeeping expertise that exceeds basic data-entry parameters.
  • Proven history of managing multi-entity accounts or centralized books for multi-location businesses.
  • Refined written and verbal English communication skills for professional interactions.
  • Strict adherence to New Zealand Standard Time (NZST) schedule (9:00 AM – 6:00 PM).

Nice to have

  • Direct operational experience with Discover ECE or similar childcare administration systems.
  • Background in high-touch, service-based industries or Client Accounting Services (CAS) models.
