Location: Teams are based in Bristol, UK and San Mateo, CA; role requires working across multiple time zones and occasional travel.

What you will do

  • Lead, support, and develop a distributed team of support engineers across multiple products and platforms.
  • Define career paths, mentor team members, and manage individual performance appraisals.
  • Oversee capacity planning, hiring, onboarding, and succession planning for the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups and teams across different global time zones.
  • Optimize the developer support experience by removing obstacles and refining undefined tasks.
  • Support and facilitate PlayStation Partner field activities at conferences and studio visits.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience managing software development, QA, or software support teams.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of support fundamentals and reporting analytics.
  • Experience with developer tools, including C++ compilers, linkers, debuggers, performance analysis tools, and memory profilers.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling high-performing technical teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

  • Proficiency with Confluence, JIRA, or similar bug tracking and ticket management tools.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and workflows.
  • Programming experience with C++ and familiarity with Clang for LLVM or GNU GCC toolchains.
  • Experience with Windows, Linux, or MacOS.
  • Knowledge of and passion for the video games industry.
