Senior Buyer (Logistics)

TL;DR

Senior Buyer (Procurement): Managing source identification, supplier qualification, and procurement of direct and indirect materials with an accent on vendor quality and schedule adherence. Focus on optimizing costs through negotiations and ensuring stock availability to support uninterrupted production.

Location: Hybrid; Must be based in Frederick, MD (USA). Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR.

Salary: $66,000 – $88,000

What you will do

• Process purchasing requests into purchase orders and maintain constant communication with suppliers and internal customers.
• Expedite orders and update the ERP system to ensure vendor quality and delivery schedules are met.
• Coordinate with production planning, warehousing, and program management to ensure sufficient stock availability.
• Identify, qualify, and establish relationships with new sources of supply and manufacturers.
• Negotiate costs and evaluate the performance of existing suppliers to reduce expenses.
• Participate in and manage procurement sub-projects within a defined framework.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, or Business, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 5 years of work experience in procurement.
• Proficiency in SAP MM module and MRP.
• Strong knowledge of negotiations, costing, and PO documentation.
• Knowledge of technical material groups within manufacturing and integration.
• Must be a U.S. person as defined by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

• Experience working with WMS and inventory management.
