What you will do

• Identify and specify new AI/ML use cases and solutions to optimize cost base and revenue opportunities for various business units.
• Assess and evaluate cutting-edge AI technologies, including Agentic AI, Foundation Models, and Quantum Machine Learning.
• Design and implement rapid prototypes and proofs of concept using Google Cloud Platform, Vertex AI, and agentic frameworks.
• Scout the market for promising AI startups and innovations that could provide value to the company.
• Lead and contribute to projects within external industry organizations such as NGMN and GSMA.

Requirements

• MSc or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or Artificial Intelligence.
• Proven hands-on experience with PyTorch, scikit-learn, Hugging Face, and generative AI.
• Proficiency in Python, Pandas, NumPy, and Jupyter, with strong fundamentals in linear algebra and statistics.
• Experience implementing Agentic AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph) and using Google Vertex AI on GCP.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Must be based in or able to work in a hybrid model in Madrid, Spain.

Nice to have

• Experience with BigQuery and Looker.
• Knowledge of Reinforcement Learning and Federated Learning.
• Understanding of mobile network fundamentals (5G).
• Contributions to open-source software or a strong GitHub portfolio.
