What you will do

  • Counsel internal clients on nationwide employment matters, including wage and hour issues, reasonable accommodations, and employee classification.
  • Draft and provide guidance on employment and HR-related policies and procedures.
  • Manage the successful defense of lawsuits and claims, performing cost-benefit analyses to identify risks.
  • Monitor emerging developments in employment and wage and hour laws to advise business departments.
  • Provide business-focused legal advice to compliance, human resources, marketing, and IT departments.

Requirements

  • Admitted to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 5+ years of experience in employment and wage and hour matters.
  • Strong research and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.

Nice to have

  • Experience in healthcare, staffing, or services industry.
  • Prior experience at a mid to large sized law firm or in-house legal department.
