TL;DR
Head of Legal (AI/SaaS): Managing the legal risk profile and governance for a healthcare platform connecting the NHS with an accent on AI governance and scalable GRC frameworks. Focus on translating emerging AI regulations into product frameworks, embedding privacy-by-design, and advising the board on strategic growth.
Location: Hybrid (London, Shoreditch) - Must be based in London and able to work from the office 3 days a week
Salary: £120,000 – £150,000 + share options up to £50,000

What you will do
- Own the overall legal risk profile and set standards for governance, compliance, and legal quality.
- Manage core legal domains including commercial contracts, IP, partnership agreements, and employment law.
- Build legal foundations for AI-native operations, translating UK and EU AI regulations into product frameworks.
- Design and implement a robust Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework to support rapid growth.
- Lead and mentor a team of three direct reports across Service Management, Data Protection, and Legal Operations.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the Board and Executive team on corporate governance and investment preparedness.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent with QLTS).
- Minimum 8+ years PQE.
- Proven in-house experience within a high-growth SaaS or tech environment (Series B and beyond).
- Working knowledge of emerging AI regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, ICO, MHRA) and data protection.
- Hands-on experience with company secretarial duties, board processes, and employee share schemes.
- Ability to work from the Shoreditch office 3 days a week.
