What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for data pipeline, storage, and query infrastructure.
• Drive the design and operation of highly scalable, reliable distributed systems for massive-scale data processing.
• Collaborate with Perception, Planner, Simulation, and Data Science teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of systems, including architecture, implementation, deployment, and monitoring.
• Champion best practices in software development and operational excellence.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record in large-scale distributed systems.
• 2+ years of experience in engineering management or technical leadership.
• Proficiency in C++, Java, or Python.
• Deep understanding of data processing frameworks (Spark, Beam) and storage systems (Bigtable, Spanner).
• Experience with query engines such as Presto or F1 Query.

Nice to have

• Ability to influence and drive alignment across multiple engineering teams.
• Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and SQL optimization.
• Knowledge of stream and batch processing technologies.
• Familiarity with Google's internal data infrastructure and tools.
• Domain knowledge in autonomous vehicles, robotics, or large-scale data analysis.
