What you will do

• Lead a team of software engineers building detection and mitigation systems for frontier model misuse.
• Set the technical roadmap and execution strategy for production services and detection pipelines.
• Partner with Research and Product teams to translate model capabilities into deployable tests and signals.
• Drive engineering fundamentals including architecture, reliability, monitoring, and operational excellence.
• Hire and grow an exceptional team across backend, data systems, and applied ML domains.
• Anticipate and mitigate risks as agentic workflows become more capable.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading engineering teams and delivering production systems end-to-end.
• Strong technical judgment in system design, distributed systems, data pipelines, and observability.
• Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally to ship systems that reduce risk at scale.
• Experience building systems in adversarial or fast-evolving environments.
• Must be based in San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with model extraction, distillation, or adversarial evaluation.
• Background in autonomy, high-scale real-time systems, or intelligence-adjacent domains.
• Experience in security-adjacent fields like abuse prevention, fraud, or platform defense.
