What you will do
- Execute full-cycle shipment operations including booking, dispatch, tracking, and delivery for import and export intermodal movements.
- Coordinate rail and drayage handoffs, container management, and port or ramp scheduling.
- Manage customs documentation and border crossing requirements for shipments between Mexico and the US.
- Maintain accurate shipment data, milestones, and references within the TMS.
- Communicate proactively with US-based customers regarding shipment status, exceptions, and resolutions.
- Analyze weekly operational reports and support the onboarding and coaching of new team members.
Requirements
- 2–5 years of experience in freight operations or supply chain execution, specifically in intermodal or cross-border environments.
- Hands-on knowledge of rail movements, drayage, container types, and port/ramp operations.
- Familiarity with Mexico–US customs documentation, such as pedimentos and carta porte.
- Experience working with a TMS or freight management system with a focus on data integrity.
- Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken) for daily communication with US-based customers and carriers.
- Ability to manage multiple active shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Experience in 4PL, freight forwarding, or broker operations for North American lanes.
- Familiarity with US domestic intermodal networks (BNSF, UP, NS, CSX) and Mexican rail operators (Ferromex, KCSM/FXE).
- Experience with capacity management, carrier negotiation, or exception handling under tight SLAs.
- Proficiency with data and reporting tools to identify trends and propose process improvements.
