What you will do

• Serve as the primary contact point for data protection authorities such as the ICO and CNIL.
• Monitor compliance with GDPR, UK DPA, and other applicable global data protection laws across all operating jurisdictions.
• Maintain and oversee Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Legitimate Interest Assessments (LIAs).
• Embed privacy-by-design principles into product development and new data initiatives.
• Manage personal data breach investigations, reporting, and remediation processes.
• Develop and deliver privacy training to promote a culture of accountability among employees and contractors.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer or equivalent role within a technology or data-driven business.
• Deep understanding of GDPR, UK DPA 2018, and global privacy regulations.
• Strong expertise in data protection governance, DPIAs, and vendor risk management.
• Ability to work independently in a fractional capacity (estimated 1-2 days per week).
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with senior leadership, technical teams, and regulators.

Nice to have

• CIPP/E, CIPM, or other recognized privacy certifications.
• Experience working with AI, big data, or telecoms data environments.
• Familiarity with ISO 27701, ISO 27001, and other information security frameworks.
