HSE Advisor (Energy)

TL;DR

HSE Advisor (Energy): Supporting the safe and environmentally responsible delivery of energy storage projects with an accent on risk management and site-based HSE leadership. Focus on implementing effective HSE systems, auditing project plans, and ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation.

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in Office), Sydney, Australia. Regular site travel within NSW and occasional travel to Victoria required.

What you will do

• Provide on-site HSE advice and real-time support to project and services teams.
• Review and audit HSE plans, procedures, and controls, including Principal Contractor requirements and emergency plans.
• Support incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain project-specific HSE plans and risk registers.
• Monitor contractor HSE performance and review required documentation.
• Coach and inhirify.global teams on HSE legislation, compliance, and industry best practices.

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent).
• Minimum 4 years’ HSE experience, ideally within energy, civil, industrial, or construction environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and Environmental legislation.
• Experience in incident investigation and reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.

Nice to have

• Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001, ISO 45001/AS 4801, ISO 14001).
