What you will do

• Lead electrical design for critical data center equipment across APAC, including substations, MV/HV infrastructure, UPS, and switchgear.
• Develop and maintain electrical basis of design, reference architectures, and technical specifications for power distribution.
• Drive the modular electrical strategy through the development of prefabricated skids, e-houses, and power assemblies to accelerate deployment.
• Perform and validate engineering studies, including short-circuit, protection coordination, and power quality analysis.
• Coordinate with local utilities (DNSPs) and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with AS/NZS and IEC standards.
• Partner with hardware and compute teams to translate AI accelerator requirements into electrical design criteria.

Requirements

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities (data centers).
• Deep familiarity with Australian electrical codes, specifically AS/NZS 3000, 2067, 3008, and 61439.
• Hands-on experience with prefabricated and modular data center electrical infrastructure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
• Proficiency in power systems analysis tools such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
• Must be based in Sydney, Australia to comply with the hybrid office policy.

Nice to have

• Experience delivering data centers in other APAC markets (Singapore, Japan, Korea) and familiarity with NFPA 70/70E.
• Background in medium/high-voltage distribution, BESS, or renewable energy integration.
• Exposure to liquid-cooled infrastructure and its impact on electrical layout.
• Previous experience at a hyperscaler, colocation provider, or MEP consultancy.
