TL;DR
Team Leader (Legal): Leading and developing a claims management team to ensure SLAs are met for insurance clients with an accent on casualty claims and commercial profitability. Focus on workload distribution, performance management, and maintaining high quality standards in litigated claims handling.
Location: Hybrid. Must be based in Bristol, UK, with occasional travel to Bolton.

What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members to ensure objectives and client SLAs are consistently met.
- Plan and distribute workload based on individual capability to ensure timely and profitable case completion.
- Manage client finances, including controlling team costs, bill approval, and monitoring WIP targets.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client complaints, resolving issues or escalating via the IRF process.
- Ensure strict compliance with the Solicitors Code of Conduct and internal quality benchmarks.
- Deliver a personal caseload and provide supervision according to company standards and targets.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of all stages of the litigated claims handling process for Casualty claims.
- Financial authority to handle a litigated caseload unsupervised.
- Proven ability to manage performance, lead people, and develop staff capability.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word and Excel) and experience with Case Management systems.
- Must be located in or able to work from Bristol.
Nice to have
- Prior experience leading teams within the insurance or legal sectors.
- Experience supervising litigated caseloads and developing professional growth plans for individuals.
