TL;DR

What you will do

  • Manage a caseload of EL/PL delegated authority files and pre-action disclosure applications.
  • Set and execute litigation strategies in collaboration with technical support lawyers.
  • Conduct investigations, obtain witness statements, and review medical or personnel records.
  • Negotiate settlements, draft court documents, and instruct Counsel or experts.
  • Ensure all activities comply with SRA standards and client-specific SLAs.
  • Attend conferences and trials to provide support and note-taking for Counsel.

Requirements

  • Must be based in or able to commute to the Bolton office.
  • Strong analytical and forensic approach to legal documentation and evidence.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for dealing with solicitors and insured parties.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure to meet performance targets.
  • Proficiency in legal research and drafting court-related documentation.
  • Previous experience in personal injury or litigation is highly preferred.

Nice to have

  • Legal education such as ILEX or LPC.
  • Specific experience handling EL/PL (Employers' Liability/Public Liability) files.
  • Proven advocacy skills in a legal setting.
