What you will do
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of costs lawyers to ensure technical growth and high performance.
- Manage a personal caseload of high-value complex injury costs claims from receipt to resolution.
- Plan and distribute team workload to ensure timely and profitable completion of cases.
- Monitor and report on financial and performance KPIs, conducting regular audits to improve work quality.
- Implement strategies to challenge costs claimed by claimant firms and CHOs.
- Ensure full compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations and internal firm policies.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a costs draftsperson or negotiator role (claimant or defendant).
- Proven experience in handling high-value costs claims and the Detailed Assessment process.
- Previous experience in leading, managing, or mentoring a team.
- Strong knowledge of current cost case law and insurance litigation practice.
- Degree, LPC, or ALCD qualification.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide constructive feedback and negotiate effectively.
