What you will do

• Lead system safety activities, including Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and System Safety Assessments.
• Develop and maintain the System Safety Program Plan and safety architecture documentation.
• Identify and manage hazards, risks, and mitigation measures throughout the product lifecycle.
• Establish data collection frameworks for safety metrics and execute test plans for safety verification and validation.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during System Safety Reviews and Panels (THAR, NNMSB).
• Coordinate safety corrective actions based on Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a System Safety Engineer or in a safety-critical engineering role.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, or Electrical Engineering, or Physics.
• Expertise with MIL-STD-882E and military safety standards.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Extensive experience with FHA, FTA, and SCFTA.
• Proven experience engaging with customers on System Safety Reviews.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
• System Safety certification (ASP, CSP, CSEP).
• Experience with DoD or Navy safety programs.
• Proficiency with safety analysis tools like Relyence, Windchill, or PTC Integrity.
• Experience with requirements management tools (JIRA, JAMA, Cameo, DOORS).
