TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Mountain View, CA or San Martin, CA

Salary: $190,000 – $260,000

What you will do

  • Verify the function and capabilities of modified flight control systems from lab to vehicle.
  • Ensure end-to-end system functionality and assess all desired test requirements.
  • Act as the responsible engineer for the vehicle and serve as test director during flight campaigns.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to maintain a firm understanding of vehicle capabilities.
  • Draft test plans, test cards, and perform test hazard analyses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experimental flight test experience.
  • Must be a U.S. person or otherwise permitted to access export-controlled technology.
  • Prior experience acting as test director during a flight or mission.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete system-level risk assessments.
  • Experience with making aeronautical VHF radio calls.

Nice to have

  • Graduate of an SETP recognized flight test school.
  • Experience with automated or large remotely operated vehicles (UAS, spacecraft).
  • Deep understanding of FAA certification processes.
  • Recent Caravan or PT6A experience.
  • CFII or military flight instructor certification.
