TL;DR

Location: Must be based in the United States (Remote or Mountain View, CA).

Salary: $190,000 – $300,000

What you will do

  • Define and document mission-related aspects of future aircraft operations using pilot expertise.
  • Develop strategies and plans for type certification and operational approval.
  • Capture system requirements and interfaces to drive avionics hardware and software development.
  • Perform operational safety assessments for experimental and production missions.
  • Support system architecture development and conduct trade-off studies regarding performance and risk.
  • Develop training and support documentation for autonomous system deployment.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or asylee) due to U.S. export control laws.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
  • FAA-Certificated Pilot (Commercial or ATP) or Dispatcher with 2+ years of operational experience.
  • 7+ years of experience designing and testing complex safety-critical aerospace systems.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Experience certifying flight-critical systems via ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-254, or DO-178C.
  • Strong first-principles problem-solving skills in data-constrained environments.
