TL;DR

Location: Must be based in Palo Alto, CA (Onsite only)

Salary: $176,000–$264,000 USD

What you will do

  • Manage the compliance program for state and federal employment laws, including timekeeping, payroll, and anti-discrimination policies.
  • Collaborate with HR to develop and implement procedures for accommodations, leaves of absence, and onboarding.
  • Conduct regular compliance audits and track the implementation of corrective actions across the organization.
  • Provide legal counsel on employment separations, job classifications, and recruiting practices.
  • Draft and maintain the Employee Handbook and provide training to people leaders.
  • Handle OFCCP compliance reporting and monitor developments in labor and benefits law.

Requirements

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school.
  • 10+ years of experience in employment law.
  • Must be admitted to the bar in at least one U.S. State.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or eligible for ITAR authorization.
  • Must be able to work onsite in Palo Alto, CA.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AAP preparation and OFCCP compliance evaluations.
  • Background in counseling clients with domestic manufacturing or international operations.
  • Specific expertise in California employment law.
  • Experience in a major law firm or corporate legal department.
