Backend Developer (Python)

TL;DR

Backend Developer (Python): Responsible for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure using Terraform and developing serverless APIs in Python FastAPI that power form generation, data persistence, and enterprise-scale deployments with an accent on database schemas (PostgreSQL, JSONB queries). Focus on error handling, logging, and observability.

Location: Hybrid- 3 days in office in Charlotte, NC

What you will do

• Design and implement AWS infrastructure using Terraform.
• Develop robust, async FastAPI services.
• Work closely with full-stack engineers and DevOps teams.
• Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions.
• Document infrastructure, APIs, and deployment procedures.

Requirements

• 5+ years of AWS experience (Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC).
• 3+ years of Terraform/Infrastructure-as-Code expertise.
• Strong understanding of AWS security, networking, and cost optimization.
• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• 3+ years with FastAPI, Django, or similar async Python frameworks.
• Expertise in relational databases (PostgreSQL) and JSONB queries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Bedrock or other LLM platforms.
• Familiarity with Azure AD/MSAL for authentication.
• Knowledge of DynamoDB and document-based data models.
• Experience with serverless architecture patterns.
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification or equivalent.
