What you will do

• Architect and build core systems ensuring seamless operation within the Shopify ecosystem for hundreds of brands.
• Redesign webhook processing architecture to support 10x growth and develop abstraction layers for subscription models.
• Lead technical deep-dives on Shopify GraphQL bulk operations and performance tradeoffs.
• Write RFCs for the next generation of integration frameworks and review critical infrastructure PRs.
• Implement new APIs and services to enable advanced subscription management and analytics features.
• Collaborate with Product and Design teams to plan and execute high-impact projects.

Requirements

• Must be based in the USA
• 4+ years of experience developing large-scale, resilient services with well-defined APIs.
• Experience with synchronous and asynchronous data processing pipelines.
• Proficiency with AWS (Kubernetes, SQS, Postgres, RDS) and security best practices.
• Experience leveraging AI tools to improve development productivity and quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex concepts cross-functionally.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake and dbt for high-volume data pipelines.
• Proficiency with Nest.js and supporting highly available cloud services.
• Prior experience mentoring or leading other engineers.
• Specific experience with Shopify platform APIs, recurring payments, or subscriptions.
• Fullstack experience with React.
