Field Advisor (Education)

TL;DR

Field Advisor (Education): Coordinating and supporting field experiences for teacher candidates within the Okanagan School of Education with an accent on mentoring, assessment, and bridging theory and practice. Focus on facilitating connections between candidates and community partners and ensuring high standards of professional competence.

Location: Onsite. Work takes place within school districts: SD 83 (North Okanagan/Shuswap), SD 22 (Vernon), SD 23 (Central Okanagan), and SD 67 (Okanagan/Skaha).

Salary: $6,747.50 - $9,701.42 CAD Monthly

What you will do

• Manage a cohort of BEd students, providing mentoring and assessment of their field experiences.
• Liaise with mentor teachers, administrators, and faculty to track student progress and resolve concerns.
• Collaborate with the field experience team to develop curriculum, policies, and program guidelines.
• Facilitate a collaborative, inclusive, and inquiry-oriented professional learning culture with partner schools.
• Provide critical formative and summative evaluative feedback to teacher candidates both verbally and in writing.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline; Master-level degree in Education is strongly preferred.
• Minimum four years of relevant classroom practice/experience.
• Experience in instructional leadership within school settings.
