Location: Must be based in the US. Roles in New York, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City are hybrid (2-3 days/week on-site); relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates outside these areas.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and scale app-friendly service APIs connecting mobile and web apps to core platform services.
• Own the end-to-end delivery of API features, from technical scoping and design to deployment and production operations.
• Partner with Product and Design teams to translate requirements into reliable, consumer-facing features.
• Build fault-tolerant integrations between consumer APIs and core services to ensure high performance at scale.
• Write clean, well-tested Java code and provide constructive code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Integrate AI-assisted development tools into workflows and mentor teammates on their effective usage.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4+ years in Java.
• Proficiency in Spring (Core/Web/Boot), Gradle, JUnit, and JVM tuning.
• Strong foundation in Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, message queues, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB) and containerization.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions), observability tools (Datadog), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CDK).
• Must be authorized to work in the US.

Nice to have

• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines with big data platforms like Snowflake.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools and evaluating their output for production environments.
