Senior Back-End Developer (Backbase)

Location: 100% remote for candidates based in the Americas. Candidates outside Canada work as independent contractors.

Salary: CAD $90,000–$130,000 annually, or an equivalent hourly rate for contractors outside Canada.

What you will do

• Integrate, extend, and implement the Backbase digital banking platform in production environments.
• Transform business requirements into technical architecture and scalable backend solutions.
• Develop distributed systems, microservices, and SOAP and RESTful integrations.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, developers, and clients to deliver digital products and services.
• Write clean, maintainable, testable code and participate in peer code reviews.
• Apply Agile practices to manage multiple client projects and solve complex business challenges.

Requirements

• 2+ years of hands-on commercial experience with the Backbase Digital Banking Platform in production.
• 5+ years of production-level experience with Java, Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.
• Experience with SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, RAML, microservices, enterprise integration patterns, and Apache Camel.
• Experience with JUnit, TDD, CI, Git or Subversion, and application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic, or JBoss.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, SaaS or service-oriented architectures, and cloud technologies including AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Experience in financial or professional services, security-sensitive systems, and Agile methodologies; a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
