What you will do

• Monitor payment flows and build alerting systems to detect anomalies before they impact customers.
• Lead the triage and resolution of consumer and restaurant payment issues, ensuring accurate payouts.
• Define and operate fraud rulesets, account suspension logic, and escalation processes.
• Investigate various fraud typologies (ATO, synthetic identity) and translate patterns into product improvements.
• Partner with engineering to build internal ops and fraud tooling from the ground up.
• Manage dispute rates and proactively identify areas of risk exposure.

Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in payments operations, fraud operations, or risk analytics within fintech or marketplaces.
• Deep familiarity with chargeback lifecycles, ACH return codes, and fraud typologies.
• Fluency in SQL for independent data extraction and evidence-based recommendations.
• Strong written communication skills for summarizing incidents for executive audiences.
• Must be based in New York (On-site).

Nice to have

• Experience establishing a payments ops or fraud function from scratch.
• Exposure to hospitality tech or two-sided marketplaces.
• Knowledge of Nacha rules and return rate thresholds.
• Familiarity with Stripe, Adyen, or Bill.com infrastructure.
