What you will do
- Lead competitive intelligence: track, analyze, synthesize, and communicate competitor and industry activity to Strategy, Regulatory Affairs, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, and Business Development.
- Monitor industry activity and emerging trends through conference coverage and external intelligence to inform internal decisions.
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize market data to produce data-driven insights and timely internal communications.
- Design and execute cross-functional primary market research, including defining objectives/methodologies and selecting vendors (HCPs, KOLs, patients, payers, analytics partners).
- Translate market research, claims analysis, and payer insights into early go-to-market strategy and commercialization readiness.
- Support new product planning by updating competitor pipelines/direction, identifying gaps/opportunities (positioning, segmentation, pricing scenarios, launch assumptions), and creating investor/Board-facing slide decks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences (biology, biochemistry, chemistry, etc.) required; advanced degree preferred (PhD, MS, or equivalent).
- 4+ years of experience in biotech/pharma in competitive intelligence, market insights, or management consulting with a life sciences focus.
- Strong scientific literacy to interpret clinical and preclinical data.
- Proven experience synthesizing and communicating competitive insights for drug development and/or corporate strategy.
- Excellent communication skills to turn complex information into clear recommendations and present insights effectively using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
- US remote-based role with minimum 1–2 days/week onsite in Boston, MA.
