Focus on evaluating architecture trade-offs, analyzing hardware-level impacts, supporting design reviews, and integrating optical payloads, laser communications, and onboard processing.

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; hybrid schedule with in-office work Tuesday through Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday

Salary: $109,000–$145,000–$159,500 annually for Colorado; ranges may vary by state.

Company

hirify.global develops commercial imagery and spatial intelligence products supported by satellite systems and software.

What you will do

  • Manage the technical interface between imaging payloads and spacecraft buses across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and data interfaces.
  • Lead and participate in system-level design trades covering performance, cost, risk, and technology insertion.
  • Model payload-level power, data, and timing interactions and contribute to electrical interface control documentation.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, COTS/FoS hardware, and new mission concepts for system-level integration feasibility.
  • Support SRR, PDR, and CDR design reviews while ensuring performance, reliability, and environmental requirements are met.
  • Assess and troubleshoot payload and spacecraft bus designs down to the circuit level when supported by prior electronics experience.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of experience with space-based optical remote-sensing payloads or similar hardware systems.
  • Experience developing spacecraft-payload interfaces, performing electrical interface analysis, and working across payload, spacecraft, and ground teams.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, requirements documentation, specifications, and interface control documents.
  • Ability to analyze schematics, block diagrams, PCB layouts, and system-level implications of hardware changes; familiarity with FPGAs, processors, memory, and storage devices.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Physics.
  • Experience with radiation effects, parts derating and qualification, fault management, redundancy, and reliability for space platforms.
  • Familiarity with STK, SPICE, HFSS, signal integrity, or power analysis tools.
  • Experience with visible, multispectral, or hyperspectral imaging payloads and metrics such as SNR and MTF.
  • Knowledge of NASA GSFC, JPL, ECSS, MIL-STD-1547, or IPC standards.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative, multidisciplinary environment with shared ownership and strong engineering rigor.
  • Work on end-to-end satellite constellation development, from architecture and manufacturing through launch and initial on-orbit operations.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Mental health resources, student loan repayment assistance, adoption reimbursement, and pet insurance.
