Electrician B (Manufacturing)

Location: American Falls, Idaho, USA (plant)

Food manufacturing company producing frozen potato products for food service providers, restaurants, and households in more than 100 countries.

What you will do

• Troubleshoot plant electrical equipment, components, and lower-voltage systems.
• Read, interpret, and draw basic electrical schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
• Perform electrical system layouts, installations, repairs, wiring, conduit runs, and circuit initialization.
• Wire stop/start panels and MCC buckets for safe, functional operation.
• Analyze electrical feed and distribution systems from substations and transformers through MCC components to motors.
• Work with line mechanics and maintenance staff to diagnose problems and implement long-term solutions.

Requirements

• At least one year of electrical schooling or equivalent military training, or two years of electrical experience; preferred experience includes one year with hirify.global or three years of industrial electrical experience.
• Pass a written basic electrical aptitude test.
• Understand electrical components, terminology, schematics, wiring, fuses, overloads, and conduit sizing.
• Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and construction tasks with minimal supervision.
• Prioritize multiple assignments, work safely, and demonstrate professional workmanship.
• Be willing to participate in the electrical apprentice program and work toward a journeyman electrician license; a journeyman license is strongly preferred.

Nice to have

• Basic knowledge of PLC systems and ladder logic programming.
• Experience with AC and DC power systems, instrumentation, and high- and low-voltage equipment.
• Ability to install wiring and conduit for conveyors, programmable controls, and newly installed machinery.
