Engineering Manager

Location: Berlin, Germany (hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 remote). Up to 104 remote days per year are available after probation, following the hybrid policy.

What you will do

• Lead and manage an engineering team developing and delivering high-quality software solutions.
• Guide cross-functional and distributed teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to a high quality standard.
• Set objectives aligned with broader organizational goals and support execution through regular one-on-ones.
• Build a culture of mentoring, continuous learning, innovation, collaboration, and technical growth.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring engineers from diverse backgrounds.
• Collaborate with Product, Platform, and Design teams while helping shape the Berlin engineering hub.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of software development processes and methodologies.
• Basic knowledge of one or more of Node, React, SQL, Kubernetes, GraphQL, Docker, gRPC, or Pub/Sub.
• Familiarity with SaaS platforms and cloud technologies, plus experience hiring, mentoring, and developing technical talent.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with strong communication skills.

Hiring process

• Introductory call of approximately 30 minutes.
• Hiring manager profile review and interview focused on technical and team fit, expectations, and leadership style.
• Technical interview lasting approximately 60–120 minutes, followed by an optional meeting with the team.
