TL;DR

Engineering Manager (AI): Leading the development and scaling of Eliza, an AI enquiry handler for care providers, with an accent on technical roadmap ownership and hands-on product engineering. Location: Hybrid (London, UK) - requires two days in office

Salary: £95,000 – £125,000 + Equity

hirify.global is a London-based startup transforming the eldercare sector by providing AI-native tools and marketplaces to connect families with care homes.

What you will do

  • Own the technical roadmap for the Eliza AI agents product line.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of product engineers while remaining hands-on with code.
  • Scale live voice agents, focusing on quality, empathy, and reliability for sensitive human contexts.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks to measure and improve LLM response accuracy and emotional tone at scale.
  • Manage LLM economics, including token costs, latency trade-offs, and model selection.
  • Expand AI capabilities from voice into live chat and email enquiry handling.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with a track record of leading technical decisions and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript across the full stack.
  • Practical experience building with LLMs, including prompt engineering and observability.
  • Proven experience building products from 0 to 1 in cross-functional environments.
  • Must be based in London to support the hybrid work policy (two days in office).
  • Strong product mindset focusing on impact and iterative development.

  • Expertise in Claude Code and AI-assisted development workflows.
