TL;DR

Account Executive (Government): Managing and growing a portfolio of State and Local Government (SLED) accounts by aligning software and SaaS solutions to agency needs with an accent on consultative sales and public sector procurement. Focus on outbound prospecting, building strategic relationships with government stakeholders, and navigating complex RFPs.

Location: Remote (Sacramento, CA) - requires local travel to customer accounts

Compensation: $70,000 base salary, Estimated OTE $130,000

What you will do

  • Manage and expand a portfolio of State and Local Government (SLED) accounts.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Build trusted relationships with government agencies, departments, and municipalities.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to align solutions with agency goals and budgets.
  • Navigate public sector procurement processes, including RFPs and contracts.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting using CRM tools like Salesforce.

Requirements

  • 1–5 years of experience in B2B, technology, or solutions-based sales.
  • Must be based in the Sacramento, CA area for local travel to customer accounts.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Strong customer service, negotiation, and persuasion abilities.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience or interest in working with SLED entities.
