Solar & BESS Technician II (Renewable Energy): Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on PV solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS) with an accent on advanced troubleshooting of AC/DC electrical systems. Location: Based onsite at Waikoloa Solar+BESS Power Plant (Big Island, Hawaii). Must be based in Hawaii and be able to travel to the U.S. Mainland as needed.
Salary: $35.00 - $42.08 per hour

What you will do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on PV solar modules, arrays, inverters, and BESS containers.
- Apply advanced troubleshooting to resolve complex electrical issues in AC/DC systems of varying voltages.
- Coordinate with site teams and engineers across North America to optimize facility performance and equipment availability.
- Manage third-party contractors, develop work scopes, and oversee vendor onboarding.
- Maintain high-quality O&M documentation including service tickets, switching orders, and safety permits (LOTO).
- Support the construction and commissioning of new facilities to ensure a high-quality build and smooth transition to O&M.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a solar PV technician or 5+ years in a utility-scale power plant.
- Must be based onsite in Hawaii (Waikoloa) and possess a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain a TWIC card.
- Valid NFPA 70E and OSHA 30 certifications.
- Strong knowledge of electrical measurements, control circuits, and electrical theory.
- English: C1+ (excellent written and verbal communication skills).

- Technical degree or equivalent Journeyman qualification in an appropriate electrical trade.
