What you will do
- Conduct root-cause analysis on field returns to drive design improvements for reliability and safety.
- Manage component obsolescence by identifying replacements and developing suitable test methodologies.
- Collaborate with Service and Operations to improve manufacturing fixtures for robustness and throughput.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to facilitate reliable and manufacturable product design.
- Perform verification testing and first article inspections on initial production runs from sub-contractors.
- Oversee development of test requirements and deployment of tools, fixtures, and software to production.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience, with 3+ years specifically in electronics design or manufacturing.
- Thorough knowledge of schematics, datasheets, and component-level troubleshooting of printed circuit assemblies.
- Proficiency in Altium Designer or similar PCB design software (schematic capture and layout).
- Working knowledge of mechanical CAD tools such as Solidworks, AutoCAD, or Autodesk Inventor.
- Knowledge of analog and digital electronics design fundamentals, as well as medical device safety and EMC standards.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a regulated environment, ideally in a medical or similar safety/reliability-focused industry.
