Salary: $274,000 – $325,000 + Equity + Bonus

What you will do

• Lead strategy and response for consumer litigation, class actions, arbitrations, and regulatory investigations.
• Partner with outside counsel to develop defense strategies, manage legal budgets, and oversee case management.
• Establish scalable processes for litigation holds, discovery, and regulatory coordination.
• Advise the Board and executive leadership on risk exposure and settlement strategies.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Risk teams to identify and minimize enforcement risks.
• Build and lead a high-performing litigation and enforcement team to support company growth.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing.
• 12+ years of legal experience in consumer financial services litigation and regulatory matters.
• Deep experience handling regulatory inquiries with agencies such as the CFPB, FTC, SEC, OCC, and state regulators.
• Strong knowledge of consumer financial services laws, including TILA, TISA, EFTA, FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, and ROSCA.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders and presenting to Boards of Directors.
• Must be based in the United States (excluding Hawaii).

• Experience in fintech, digital banking, payments, or financial services technology.
• Combination of law firm and in-house legal leadership experience.
• Experience building or scaling litigation and regulatory response functions.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled legal workflows and modern legal technology platforms.
