What you will do

• Design and implement the internal audit program, risk assessment methodology, and reporting framework from scratch.
• Lead annual risk assessments and prioritize audit areas for the CFO and Audit Committee.
• Conduct operational, financial, and compliance audits, including IT general controls and data security.
• Evaluate and remediate internal control gaps to ensure operational integrity.
• Partner with Engineering and Legal to support SOX certification and regulatory compliance.
• Build governance infrastructure to position the company for future IPO requirements.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in internal/external audit, including Big 4 and high-growth SaaS environments.
• Deep expertise in COSO internal control frameworks and risk assessment methodologies.
• Proven track record of building or significantly shaping an internal audit function.
• Working knowledge of IT general controls, data privacy, and information security.
• CPA, CIA, or CISA certification and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Must be based in New York City for on-site work.

• Experience with SOC 2 or pre-IPO readiness at venture-backed tech companies.
