TL;DR

What you will do

• Build and maintain the platform underpinning low-latency, event-driven microservices architecture.
• Develop core microservices and reusable tooling to reduce overhead for domain teams.
• Partner with domain teams to scope priorities and deliver high-impact technical solutions.
• Lead by example on software engineering best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Drive AI adoption within the engineering workflow to improve efficiency.

Requirements

• Advanced-level Python proficiency.
• Experience managing production systems on Kubernetes with observability tools like Grafana, Datadog, or Sentry.
• Strong understanding of microservices, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Must be able to work from the London office at least 2-3 days per week.
• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to work autonomously in a startup-like environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with continuous intraday power trading in the UK or EU.
• Knowledge of high-performance languages like Go or Rust.
• Frontend development experience using TypeScript (React/Angular).
• Familiarity with analytics tooling like Databricks, dbt, or Streamlit.
