What you will do

• Build and enhance virtual frameworks and tools to manage and maintain large-scale Elasticsearch infrastructure.
• Optimize index creation, population, and reindex processes for indexes containing billions of records.
• Ensure high site availability, security, and performance through proactive observability and monitoring.
• Plan for infrastructure scalability and capacity to handle increasing demands.
• Collaborate with the open-source community and internal teams to drive technical designs and feature improvements.
• Participate in on-call rotations to diagnose and resolve critical production incidents.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in infrastructure domains (or a Bachelor's degree in CS/IT plus 4+ years of experience).
• 6+ years of experience building, deploying, and maintaining Elasticsearch at scale.
• 3+ years of experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Go, Ruby, or Rust.
• 1+ year of technical leadership experience.
• Must be based in the United Kingdom.

Nice to have

• Experience with Lucene-based search engines like Opensearch or Solr.
• Expertise in Search Relevance, Scoring, and building search experiences.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Experience with scripting languages like Python or Bash.
