Robotics & Automation Project Engineer (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site project work with installation, commissioning, supplier coordination, and travel to research partners, conferences, and suppliers of up to 10%.

Total compensation: starting from €46,000 gross per year, including a 20% variable bonus based on goal achievement.

What you will do

• Define robotic concepts and automation cell architectures based on product and process requirements.
• Simulate robotic cells and assess cycle time, reachability, feasibility, and layout optimization.
• Program, configure, install, commission, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial and collaborative robots.
• Integrate PLC-controlled systems, sensors, vision systems, drives, MES, SCADA, traceability, and OPC-UA interfaces.
• Lead automation projects from concept definition through production handover and ramp-up.
• Coordinate suppliers through RFQs, design reviews, factory and site acceptance tests, risk management, and technical issue resolution.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in robotics and industrial automation engineering, preferably in high-tech industries.
• Experience with machine builders or system integrators, supplier coordination, and automation project delivery.
• Knowledge of industrial interfaces, machinery safety standards, risk management, electrical schematics, process flows, and technical specifications.
• Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams and external partners, evaluate complex technologies, and anticipate their application potential.
• Fluent English required; Italian or German proficiency is an advantage.
