Associate Program Director (Civic Tech)

What you will do

• Act as the primary project lead for assigned initiatives, ensuring successful delivery across scope, timeline, budget, and outcomes.
• Translate program strategies into clear delivery plans and manage the project lifecycle from kickoff through close-out.
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams (Product, Design, Engineering, Research) through ambiguity to maintain momentum toward goals.
• Cultivate and steward strategic relationships with government agencies and direct service organizations.
• Proactively identify and escalate delivery and partnership risks to the Program Director.
• Manage external delivery reporting, funder updates, and data-backed storytelling.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience leading complex projects in civic tech, consulting, government, or adjacent environments.
• Strong understanding of public benefits implementation (e.g., SNAP, WIC, Medicaid, EITC, CTC).
• Proven track record of cross-sector stakeholder engagement across public, nonprofit, and private sectors.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Strong analytical and communication skills with a bias towards action and impact.
