What you will do

  • Provide expert compliance advisory to trading and commercial teams on wholesale energy and financial market regulations.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on REMIT, MiFID, EMIR, and MAR, interpreting and applying these frameworks to the business.
  • Lead regulatory change initiatives, such as REMIT II, translating new rules into practical business implementation.
  • Maintain and enhance policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
  • Support and review trade surveillance and algorithmic trading controls.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators, legal counsel, and auditors.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of physical and financial commodities trading, specifically Gas, Power, and LNG.
  • Expertise in REMIT obligations, market abuse risks, and wholesale energy reporting requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of financial derivatives regulations, specifically MiFID, EMIR, and MAR.
  • Proven experience in designing compliance frameworks and leading regulatory change projects.
  • Ability to translate complex legal rules into practical guidance for front-office teams.
  • Must be based in the United Kingdom to support the hybrid working model in London.
