What you will do
- Establish a centralized command and leadership for the response effort across all impactful incidents.
- Coordinate and delegate tasks across internal teams including Service Operations, Security Operations, Engineering, Legal, and Communications, as well as external vendors.
- Define the problem scope and the impact felt by both internal and external users.
- Review and prioritize multiple simultaneous incidents based on business impact.
- Analyze risks and make decisive actions to prevent further escalation and mitigate impact.
- Maintain a holistic view of the incident and drive the process toward mitigation and final resolution.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Incident Response, Security Operations, or a critical IT Operations role.
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated experience leading high-severity incidents.
- Demonstrated experience commanding large-scale, cross-functional incidents such as major system outages or critical security breaches.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical issues to executive audiences.
- Deep understanding of the Incident Response lifecycle (Preparation, Identification, Containment, Eradication, Recovery, Lessons Learned).
- Experience with incident management platforms such as PagerDuty, ServiceNow IRM, or XMatters.
- Must be based in Canada.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL v4, SANS GCIH, or CISSP.
- Experience working within regulated industries like Finance or Healthcare.
