TL;DR

Network Operations Engineer II (Fintech): Supporting and maintaining network infrastructure for a global derivatives marketplace with an accent on monitoring, troubleshooting, and change implementation. Focus on resolving complex network faults, managing security postures, and ensuring platform stability for internal and external stakeholders.

Location: Hybrid (Belfast, UK) - 2 days per week in office required

What you will do

• Monitor and manage platforms to ensure internal SLAs, operational KPIs, and quality standards are met.
• Act as first responder for incident response and resolve technical support issues of simple to medium complexity.
• Perform day-to-day technical operations, including network and firewall troubleshooting, scripting changes, and firmware updates.
• Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and service providers to resolve incidents and service requests.
• Maintain accurate troubleshooting records via ticketing systems and author technical SOPs and documentation.

Requirements

• Experience in a fast-paced enterprise NOC role (minimum 2nd line).
• Strong support experience with LAN & WAN technologies (OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP, Layer 2 architectures).
• Proficiency in firewalls (ACLs, security posture) and VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL).
• Understanding of Wireless technologies and experience with ISO and ITIL standards.
• Experience supporting or working with Cloud Technologies.

Nice to have

• Enterprise certifications in R&S (Cisco, Juniper), Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet), or Wireless (Aruba, Meraki).
• Experience with Load Balancing (F5 LB, iRules, persistence).
• Cloud Certification in GCP (preferred), AWS, or Azure.
• Proficiency with toolset management (Solarwinds) or hardware-based packet capture (Wireshark).
• Knowledge of Multicast (PIM-SM, MSDP, AnyCastRP).
