Accountant (Aerospace)

TL;DR

Accountant (Finance/Aerospace): Managing financial operations and bookkeeping for the Canadian entity with an accent on scalable financial infrastructure and cost accounting. Focus on owning the full accounting cycle, managing inter-entity transfer pricing, and ensuring compliance with US and Canadian GAAP.

Location: On-site in Montreal, Canada. Must be eligible to obtain and hold a security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

What you will do

• Own accounting pathways from expense capture to financial close for the Canadian entity.
• Coordinate cost accounting, budget tracking, forecasting, and financial reporting with the Operations team.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, coordinating with external vendors and stakeholders.
• Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations for audit preparation.
• Enforce multi-location, inter-entity accounting practices and transfer pricing protocols.
• Collaborate with program managers and government contacts to recognize revenue and contract milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 4-8 years of experience in financial operations or a similar field.
• Understanding of GAAP principles and practices in both Canada and the United States.
• Proficiency with Excel and familiarity with QuickBooks or similar ERPs.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience in aerospace, satellite systems, or technology-driven industries.
• Experience with ASC 606 Revenue Recognition, specifically over-time recognition.
• Experience with ERP implementation and cost accounting practices.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-growth scale-up environment.
