Producer Consultant (Habitational Department)

Producer Consultant (Habitational Department): Obtaining new clients, retaining existing clients, and building long term relationships with all clients, both produced and assigned with an accent on developing and achieving maximum sales volume consistent with sales projections. Focus on effectively negotiating placement with carriers, developing relationships with carriers, evaluate coverages/cost.

Location: Must be able to travel as necessary for client meetings, agent conventions, and other industry meetings as needed

Salary: $67,500 to $125,800. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

What you will do

• Obtain new clients, retain existing clients, and build long term relationships with all clients, both produced and assigned.
• Actively generate new leads through community activities, attending association meetings, cold calling, obtaining expiration dates, and other means to turn leads into prospects and clients.
• Know available markets for various industries and coverages, effectively negotiate placement with carriers, develop relationships with carriers, evaluate coverages/cost.
• Present proposals to prospects and clients, ensure all needed coverages are included to protect the client, close the sale, deliver policies.
• Assist clients with policy, coverage, and service issues as needed.
• Maintain production reports and attend sales meetings.

Requirements

• College degree preferred.
• Effective negotiation, persuasion, and sales skills, including closing the sale.
• Ability to effectively prospect, including cold calls.
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop lasting client relationships.
• Must have Property & Casualty license or obtain within 90 days of employment.
